The trial of the century is finally ovah! The jury could not reach a verdict and the judge declared the whole thing a mistrial. The jury vote came back 10 not guilty, two guilty. That wasn't a waste of time at all.Britney was popped for driving without a license last year -- and for reasons that defy explanation, it made it all the way to trial.Jurors spent yesterday deadlocked 10-2 but were ordered to continue deliberating. She faced a maximum of six months in jail and a $1,000 fine if convicted of the misdemeanor.Spears was a no-show the entire trial.Prosecutors could ask for another trial. That would be a good use of taxpayer's money.

Singer Britney Spears' father Jamie has represented the star in a court case accusing her of driving without a valid Californian licence. The charge relates to an incident in Los Angeles in August 2007 when Ms Spears was photographed hitting a parked car and leaving the scene.Mr Spears said she had planned to move to her home state of Louisiana so did not need a Californian driving licence. The 26-year-old is exercising her right to stay away from court. The pop star had initially faced hit-and-run charges but they were dropped last October when she compensated the driver of the damaged car.The prosecution said it was "a straightforward case" - her address was listed as Beverley Hills so she should have a Californian driving licence.
Her lawyer, J Michael Flanagan, told the jury there was no dispute she had been driving but said that, at the time, she had a valid Louisiana driving licence. He argued that Ms Spears did not need a Californian driving licence because she was only a temporary resident of Los Angeles. He said: "She was residing in California - I'm not trying to get tricky with terminology but 'resident' has a different definition."Her father told the court that she intended to move back to Louisiana but that her ongoing custody dispute with ex-husband Kevin Federline kept her in California.Under cross-examination, Mr Spears admitted that his daughter had strong ties with California and acknowledged that she had got married and divorced in the state and had two children there.Closing arguments from both sides were expected on Friday.Mr Flanagan rejected a plea deal which would have resulted in a $150 (£85) fine saying Ms Spears did not want a criminal record. She faces jail if convicted, but this is unlikely as she has no criminal record. This week, the singer hit the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the first time since her debut single Baby One More Time, in 1999.Womanizer, the first track off her new album Circus, was boosted by first-week download sales of 286,000.

Britney turns to Aussie Wade, she's swapped her "warped" ways for the showbiz straight-and-narrow, now Britney Spears has hired an Aussie dancing man to help choreograph her return to the world spotlight.Wade Robson styled Spears early steps to pop culture fame, but told Confidential yesterday he will reunite with the singer as she prepares to climb her way back up the charts. But not before Robson returns to share his skills with Sydney dancers, at classes next month. The 26-year-old, who was given his start - controversially - by Michael Jackson as an 8-year-old, remains in hot demand as a dance director and confirmed he will write the moves for Spears' upcoming world tour."She reached out to me and said she wanted to get the old team back together, so we'll go into rehearsals in January for a March start," he said.
Like the rest of the world, Robson said he watched Spears self-destruction with horror, but explained "when you exist in a warped world, warped things are going to happen to you".While his pop diva pal has spiralled, the Brisbane-born performer has maintained an Aussie attitude to fame.Exhausted after nine-months in Las Vegas, with a new Cirque De Soleil show for magician Cris Angel, Robson will bring his wife Amanda home to reunite with his Aussie family next month. The couple will lead their two-day workshops at Carriage Works, Sydney on November 11 and 12. Tickets at Ticketmaster.

Anyway…Womanizer.I've been on this side of celebrity for so long that I've got to see some really messed up things. She can't go to a f******g McDonald's without a mean, shitty blog written about her.And ten years of it, every move.No doubt you have to be strong to survive this business. But at the end of the day, she's still a girl. genuinely like her. She has a good southern laugh. I think she's a good person in a fucked up world.
I've worked with bad people. She's not one of them. Not by a long shot.So I really wanted Womanizer's video to be good.I literally could not find anytime to sleep this last week. I got six hours in four days. If I had slept more than that, the video would have suffered.Turned it in for broadcast. Went to work on other projects. Went home, watched the premiere, checked for reactions. They love Britney again.I don't know if it was because I was punch drunk tired, but I almost cried.

I've been so sort of in my own creative cave. But no, it's a great feeling to still be in the game with somebody that you have known for so many years, even going back to the Mickey Mouse club. We had so much fun together. At this stage in our lives, we are so different I don't think you can put us in the same ball park."Labels: Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera
